Drexel’s Damion Lee and Frantz Massenat and Temple’s Khalif Wyatt were three of the 100 players on cbssports.com’s list of the Top 100 College Basketball Players entering the 2012-2013 season. Wyatt was listed at #61, while Lee was #95 and Massenat #100.
Here is what Jeff Borzello and Jeff Goodman said about Wyatt, Lee, and Massenat:
#61: Khalif Wyatt
“Offseason arrest aside, Wyatt is one of the best guards in the Atlantic 10. He is a big-time scorer who is efficient from the floor and can knock down shots from the perimeter. Also an underrated facilitator.” – Jeff Borzello
#95 Damion Lee
“Baltimore native was the CAA’s Rookie of the Year last season. He was second on the team in scoring, but has the length and versatility that makes him a matchup nightmare.” -Jeff Goodman
#100 Frantz Massenat
“Massenat could play pretty much anywhere in the country. The lefty shot 45 percent from 3-point range and scored in double-figures in each of Drexel’s final 19 games. His size also enables him to be a tough defender.” -Jeff Goodman

I personally think that there are about 7-8 more players that would be on that list before both Lee and Massenat, or at least with them. To have them on the list and not some others would say that Lee and Massenat are the second and third best players in the city…which I find hard to believe.
Joe I agree. While, Lee and Massenat are very good players, I cannot put them at the top of the list for players in the city, not just in the country. Very surprising list for sure.
Drexel is considered the chic choice, thus.
There are definitely not 7-8 players in the city better than Lee and Massenat. Perhaps Aiken from Saint Joe’s could be, but especially at the guard level, they are tops in the city.
In no particular order (these players are, in my opinion, on the level of play as those two)
Aiken, both Galloways, Tay Jones, Tony Chennault, Yarou…maybe Duren.
Not saying they are all definitely better, but I think that to say that Lee and Massenat belong on that list definitively and those guys don’t, is misguided.
Have to understand that CBS doesn’t focus in on a region or conference. Hard for them to rank Philly players since they mostly focus on the Top 25 teams. Didn’t do tooooo bad here, however.
