VILLANOVA, Pa. –  The White team defeated the Blue squad 52-49 here tonight in Villanova’s annual Blue/White Scrimmage at the Pavilion.

Senior forward Maurice Sutton paced the winners with 15 points and 11 rebounds while fellow senior Mouphtaou Yarou added 10 points and eight rebounds. Among Yarou’s points was an emphatic dunk with 12.7 seconds left that helped his team extend a 50-49 advantage to the 3-point margin that sealed the win. The White also shut down the Blue’s final bid when a James Bell 3-point attempt was off the mark.

The Blue unit was paced by Bell and Dylan Ennis, who each supplied 13 points. Sophomore JayVaughn Pinkston added 10 points and four rebounds.

The White team owned a 31-25 advantage on the glass and trailed 29-28 at the half.

Darrun Hilliard also contributed 12 points and four caroms to the White’s cause.

The Blue/White scrimmage capped a full Homecoming Weekend that began with Friday night’s 2012 Hoops Mania, also held at the Pavilion. The scrimmage consisted of two 15 minute halves of action and simulated full game conditions with officials, scoring and statistics.

The Wildcats host an exhibition game this Thursday night at the Pavilion against Carleton University at 7:00 p.m. The game will be streamed through the Nova Nation All-Access Pass at villanova.com.
