SJU’s Jones suspended for 3 games

St. Joe’s guard Carl “Tay” Jones has been suspended for the first three games of the season, beginning with tonight’s exhibition against Wheeling Jesuit, the school announced.

Jones will miss Monday’s home opener against Yale and next Friday’s highly anticipated showdown with Notre Dame at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph’s senior guard Carl Jones will not participate in the first three games, due to violation of the University’s community standards, beginning with the exhibition game against Wheeling Jesuit on November 8.

The University will have no further comment on Jones’ status.

-Hawks win exhibition game: Ronald Roberts and Langston Galloway each scored 19 points to lead St. Joe’s to a 71-50 win over Wheeling Jesuit in an exhibition game Thursday night at Hagan Arena.
