Can someone call please Bruiser Flint?
Our Philahoops preseason rankings are out. OK, City 6 fans, let the debate begin!
Philahoops City 6 Preseason Rankings: 1. St. Joe’s, 2. Drexel, 3. Temple, 4. La Salle, 5. Villanova, 6. Penn
Flint, you’ll recall, questioned Philahoops’ rankings last season, which led to him famously calling Drexel the best team in the city.
Maybe our phone will be ringing today from the DAC offices?!
Flint and Company will have a chance to move up the ladder. These rankings will be updated throughout the season on a weekly basis.
St. Joe’s gets our top nod, but not by much. The Hawks return everyone from their seven-man rotation and should be good. But so should Drexel, Temple and La Salle. Any of the four can make a case for top rung and, really, there isn’t much separating the quartet.
And don’t overlook Villanova, either. Some new faces could help the Wildcats be a surprise team this season.
And Penn has some talented newcomers and, as would be the case with almost any Jerome Allen-led team, could make some noise in the Ivy League. But the Quakers don’t appear to have enough to move out of the bottom spot in the city.
We shall see.
