Penn’s Rosen named Philahoops Player of Week (Feb. 20-26)

Penn’s Zack Rosen has been named Philahoops Player of the Week by Philahoops.com for games played Feb. 20-26.

A 6-foot-1 senior guard, Rosen scored 20 points in the Quakers’ upset of Harvard Friday night that kept alive Penn’s Ivy League title chances. He finished the week with 47 points.

Drexel’s Samme Givens, La Salle’s Earl Pettis, Saint Joseph’s Langston Galloway and Temple’s Micheal Eric were named honorable mentions.

A 6-5 senior forward, Givens became the third Dragons player to record 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds when he grabbed eight boards in Drexel’s win over James Madison on Wednesday. He compiled 39 points and 18 rebounds in two wins that upped Drexel’s winning streak to 17 in a row.

Pettis, a 6-5 senior guard, netted a career-high 33 points in Wednesday’s loss to Temple and finished the week with 45 points.

A 6-2 sophomore guard, Galloway had 22 points in St. Joe’s victory over Temple that earned the Hawks a share of the Big 5 title, finishing the week with 37 points.

Eric, a 6-11 senior center, recorded a pair of double-doubles in a 1-1 week for the Owls, finishing with 32 points, 26 rebounds and 7 blocks.
