Introducing the Top Five in 25

The offseason is painful, but worry not. In a few weeks, practices for each team will have begun. Midnight Madnesses will be held on their respective campuses and the opening tip will be circled on the calendar.

And as always, Philahoops will be your one-stop shop for coverage of Drexel, La Salle, Penn, St. Joseph’s, Temple and Villanova basketball.

Just to recap our changes for this season:

Team Pages have been designed for every team, featuring a more concise look at your favorite team. Need to check the schedule or roster? We got that. Player statistics? Calculated for you. Some video or audio? The list is growing.

We have also implemented our Message Boards which can be accessed from the team pages as well as the main page. With our fully-featured boards, we hope to stir discussion within fan bases and create friendly competition between them.

Finally, our staff. Going into this year, Philahoops’ staff roster has grown to over ten writers, many of whom are brand new to the Philadelphia basketball scene. Passionate about each of their beats, these new writers will offer tremendous insight going forward.

With all that said, in the next couple of days Philahoops will be releasing the “Top 5 in 25″, a look at the best five players from each team in the last 25 years. Stay tuned as we will be slowly dropping them. Did we forget someone? Rank somebody too highly?

We’d love your thoughts. Stay tuned.
