According to Edgar Walker, Maryland high school basketball analyst for Rivals, Drexel has sent an offer to Massanutten (VA) forward Garland Owens.

Owens is a 6-foot-5 small forward and is extremely athletic. Reports say that Owens is a versatile defensive player that is able to keep up in terms of speed but also handle the bigger players as well. The same report has also said that Owens has college-ready athleticism, but it is his outside game that could use some work.
Playing his high school basketball at Macgruder in Maryland, Owens will now play a season of prep school ball at Massanutten as part of the class of 2013. Owens also plays AAU for Mid-Atlantic Select.
If the Dragons were to land Owens, he could potentially make an immediate impact. With Derrick Thomas graduating after the 2012-13 season, Drexel will be searching for a player to fill the athletic, defensive-minded small forward position that will be left vacant by Thomas.
