9-11 Sat.-Mon. CAA Championship
Drexel’s schedule features 13 home games at the DAC and 17 away games including the Anaheim Classic at the end of November for a total of 30 games not including the CAA Championship.
The Dragons will kick off the season on Friday Nov. 9 at Kent State. They will open at home on Thursday Nov. 15 versus Illinois State. Just two days later Drexel will travel down 33rd Street to the Palestra for a battle with Penn. The Anaheim Classic ends Drexel’s opening month of November where they open against one of the best mid-majors in the country in St. Mary’s.
The biggest game of December and perhaps the entire year is Drexel’s New Year’s Eve match-up with St. Joes. St. Joes has been the trendy pick to win the A-10, while Drexel has been the trendy pick to win the CAA. With huge stakes on the line, this battle at the DAC could be the deciding factor for the best season in Philadelphia. It goes without saying that the DAC will be electric.
With the New Year comes the strictly CAA conference schedule for Drexel tipping off with Georgia State on Jan. 2. Going into the season, Delaware looks to be the toughest opposition for the Dragons, and their first of two match-ups will be on Monday Jan. 28 at the DAC followed by a tough test at George Mason just three days later.
February features the longest home-stand of the year for Drexel when they are at the DAC for four games straight against Old Dominion on Feb. 7, James Madison on Feb. 10, George Mason on Feb. 14, and Hofstra on Feb. 18. The game immediately following the four game home-stand will feature Drexel traveling to Delaware for one of their toughest tests of the season.
March will feature Drexel’s final home game of the year against UNC Wilmington on Mar. 2 which will be senior night where the Dragon family will honor seniors Derrick Thomas, Daryl McCoy, and Chris Fouch. Drexel will wrap up their 2012-13 season in Richmond, VA.at the CAA Championship which will begin on Mar. 9 and end on Mar. 11.
